Introduction

Kristim Foundation in partnership with Tambua Leadership center carried out an outreach in Tororo District, peta sub county targeting children from four zones of Ramogi parish. The outreach took place on15th September, 2024 in Romogi Primary school grounds. Ten children (five male and five female) were selected from each zone by the L.C Chairperson based on their vulnerability and inaccessibility to scholarlastic materials to benefit from this program.

Objectives

The primary objective of the outreach program was to distribute educational materials to children in need and to engage with the community on educational and inspirational initiatives. Moreover, it was an opportunity to engage parents of the children in conversations of responsible parenting.

Distribution of Scholastic Materials:

Books, pens, pencils, and rulers were distributed to 50 children, selectected from five zones (Ramogi East, Ramogi West, Mariwa North, Moriwa West and Makauri South) ensuring they have the necessary tools to enhance their learning experience. The children selected from volunerable families each received six 96 paged exercise books, pen or pencil and a long ruler.

Apart from the 50 intended children, 20 more children who had turned up for the even and trirefully requested for the items were each given one exercise book as a consolation.

Outcomes

The outreach program successfully distributed essential educational materials to children in need, engaged parents in valuable discussions on child education, and inspired the community with motivational talks and support from local leaders.
